KAMELION is an esports production studio in Bangkok. We run tournament production, esports broadcasts and the live AR graphics and virtual sets inside them, for publishers, organisers and agencies across Southeast Asia. Our published case studies cover more than a dozen esports projects since 2021, across VALORANT, Arena of Valor, Free Fire, Mobile Legends and Dota 2. If you are looking for esports production in Thailand, we can take on the whole show or the one part you need.

What we do in esports production

Tournament production, end to end

For the Golden Spatula Open Tournament with IO Esports, we handled tournament management, event and broadcast production, media production and the registration web app, across on-ground, online and re-broadcast formats. We visualised the stage design, broadcast setup and audience flow in 3D ourselves before execution, and the on-ground experience reached beyond gameplay with KOL appearances, cosplayers and interactive zones.

Esports broadcast production for international events

Global circuits need a local team that delivers to their standard. For VALORANT Challengers Ascension: Pacific 2023, we provided on-site local broadcast production for Flux Group, using our own equipment package for the local broadcast, across two venues in Bangkok: the group stage at the Pullman Grande Sukhumvit and the play-offs at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre. For Garena’s Arena of Valor Premier League 2023 at True Icon Hall, ICONSIAM, our crew ran the Thai local broadcast: a producer, technical producer and technical director, with instant replay, three in-game observers, a CG operator and an audio engineer.

Live AR graphics and virtual sets

Live AR graphics place tracked 3D elements in the camera shot, locked to the stage as the camera moves. Virtual sets give casters and analysts an on-air space the venue never has to build. Recent work includes:

  • Seven live AR graphics inside our own Thai broadcast of APL 2023: countdown timer, head-to-head, hero stats, player MVP, team versus, last-pick global ban and ban-pick heroes.
  • AR scenes for Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa, combining AR design, stage extension, coding and animation sequences.
  • Virtual sets for MPL Malaysia Season 8, with hero AR for the Grand Final ban-pick, and for Free Fire MCP Major Season 3 and Clash Squad SEA Cup 2023.
  • Caster and panelist virtual sets for the M6 World Championship 2024.

Show identity, motion and trophies

A tournament also has to look like itself on every screen. For VCT Spotlight Series Pacific 2024, through SOOP, we created the key visual and extended it into a background loop, an on-air transition and a bumper. We made the main and sponsor transitions for M6 2024 and character-led animation for Free Fire Pro League Seasons 5 and 6 for Garena. For the Dota 2 Bali Major 2023, our scope ran from trophy design and production to the CG film that revealed it, the flight case and delivery to the event.

How a tournament production runs

A live tournament has no second take, so most of the work happens before the first match.

1. Brief

We start from the game, the format, the dates and the venue or online setup, and agree which parts of the production we take on.

2. Planning and previz

We plan the format, the production and the graphics together, and preview key elements before the build. On the Golden Spatula Open Tournament, we visualised the stage, broadcast setup and audience flow in 3D before execution.

3. Build

Broadcast systems, graphics, AR and virtual sets are built and prepared as one pipeline.

4. Rehearsal

The setup is tested and rehearsed at the venue before the first show. For VCT Ascension Pacific 2023, setup and rehearsal days came before both the group stage and the play-offs.

5. Show

On air, cameras, graphics and the cut run as one show, with every part of our scope operated live.

6. Delivery

We deliver what was agreed in the scope at the start.

Real-time esports graphics on an Unreal Engine pipeline

Tracked AR inside the program

The APL 2023 setup paired two tracked broadcast cameras with Fujinon lens encoders, Mo-Sys StarTracker streaming freeD camera data, and two live engines running Pixotope with AJA KONA 5 video I/O. The AR went into our own program switch rather than onto someone else’s output, so timing, framing and fixes were handled in one room.

Virtual sets built for a moving camera

Our virtual sets are environments, not backdrops. The MPL Malaysia Season 8 and Free Fire MCP Major Season 3 sets were built in Unreal Engine 4, with caster desks, player portraits, standings, team identities and sponsor graphics placed inside the architecture so the information stays readable as the camera moves.

Heroes, logic and operator control

For Garena’s RoV Pro League 2026 Summer, we migrated the heroes from Unity into Unreal Engine, wired their logic in Blueprint and connected an operator web app with team and hero selection and Show / Reset controls. When a team locks a hero, the entrance plays in real time, with no pre-render delay. The broadcast production itself was outside our scope; we delivered the virtual production inside it.

Working with publishers, organisers and agencies

We work in whichever role the project needs:

  • Publishers and league operators: local broadcast production to the circuit’s standard, as for VCT Ascension Pacific 2023 and APL 2023.
  • Tournament organisers and agencies: much of our esports work comes through partners, including IO Esports on GSOT, FFWS, MPL Malaysia, the Free Fire MCP Major, Clash Squad SEA Cup, M6 and the Dota 2 Bali Major, and SOOP on VCT Spotlight Series Pacific.
  • Broadcast partners: when another team runs the live production, we deliver virtual sets, AR and real-time graphics into their show, as on MPL Malaysia Season 8, where IO Esports handled live production.

For virtual sets and AR beyond esports, see virtual production; for arenas and stages, see event and stage design.

Frequently asked questions

Both. For the Golden Spatula Open Tournament with IO Esports we handled tournament management, event and broadcast production, media and the registration web app, across on-ground, online and re-broadcast formats. On other projects we take one part: the Thai local broadcast and live AR for APL 2023, on-site local broadcast production for VCT Ascension Pacific 2023, or virtual sets and AR for a partner’s show. Tell us which parts you already have covered.

Yes. In Bangkok we produced the on-site local broadcast, with our own equipment package for the local broadcast, for VALORANT Challengers Ascension: Pacific 2023 for Flux Group, from setup and rehearsals through the play-offs at QSNCC. We also ran the Thai local broadcast of Garena’s Arena of Valor Premier League 2023 at ICONSIAM. We plan around the publisher’s broadcast standards, schedule and approvals from the first call.

The main drivers are the number of show days, the venue and whether it is on-ground, online or both, how many cameras, observers and replay positions you need, crew size, and the equipment package. AR, virtual sets and new graphics add design and rehearsal time; reusing an existing package reduces it. Extra language feeds or re-broadcasts add work too. Send your dates and format and we reply with a scoped estimate.

It depends on what is new. Reusing an existing graphics package or virtual set is quicker than designing AR from scratch, which needs build, testing and a rehearsal on the real cameras. The venue also needs setup and rehearsal days before the first show: for VCT Ascension Pacific 2023 we were on site from late-June setup through rehearsals to the July final. Contact us as soon as your dates are fixed.

Yes. For APL 2023 we designed and ran seven AR graphics inside our own Thai broadcast, from ban-pick heroes to player MVP, with tracked cameras and Pixotope. We built AR scenes for Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa and virtual sets for Clash Squad SEA Cup 2023, Free Fire MCP Major Season 3 and MPL Malaysia Season 8. AR cues are fired live by an operator on the director’s call.

We produce Thai local broadcasts, as we did for APL 2023, and we work in English with international publishers, organisers and partner crews, from planning calls to the control room. Casters and on-air talent are agreed per project: we can work with your talent or the organiser’s on-air team. Tell us which languages and feeds you need at the brief, as each feed affects crew, graphics and rehearsal time.

The tournament format and dates, the venue or online setup, the game and any publisher broadcast rules, your brand and sponsor assets, existing graphics or virtual sets, and the platforms you will stream to. If you already have a broadcast partner and only need AR or a virtual set, tell us their setup. Email contact@kamelion.io or use Start a project, and we reply with questions and a scoped estimate.
