ATLAS — MAYDAY MAYDAY

KAMELION’s Virtual Production contribution to ATLAS’s MAYDAY MAYDAY music video, seen through the finished film and behind-the-scenes photographs from the shoot.

Pale desert horizons, red-lit branches and a gold planetary sky give ATLAS’s MAYDAY MAYDAY a sequence of distinct worlds. For the 2021 music video, KAMELION contributed Virtual Production. The finished scenes and photographs from the studio show that work from both sides of the camera.

Virtual Production, on set

KAMELION’s scope was Virtual Production within the wider music-video production. The official film credits identify the contribution as ICVFX. On the studio floor, digital backgrounds on the LED wall sit alongside physical scenery, lighting and the camera setup.

Finished film — a performance framed by red-lit branches.

The photograph below opens up the same red-lit world. The wider view reveals the crew, camera rig, track and lights surrounding the scenery visible in the finished shot.

From the monitor to the stage

Behind the Virtual follows the pale desert sequence through a production monitor, then turns toward the studio floor. This short phone recording connects the image being monitored with the camera team and LED background just beyond it.

A change of atmosphere

Another setup shifts the scene to a gold landscape beneath a ringed planet. The dolly track leads toward the performance area, while the LED wall, physical foreground and surrounding lights can be seen together in one photograph.

Together, the final film and these on-set views document KAMELION’s Virtual Production contribution to MAYDAY MAYDAY.
